So I picked up this little BSA super Sport Five expecting it to be a good gun for my 5 year old to learn on, but I’m thinking that I’ll buy him something else because this thing can shoot.
The targets were placed at 50m and I was using CCI Blazers for a test and that’s what I had the most of at the time. It’s to bad this thing isn’t set up for a scope because it would probably be a real competitor.

I like the peeps. Its a nice break from the modern optics. Plus its fun to hit spiners with at the range. None of the younger shooters believe that the oldies can shoot as good as new modern stuff till they see them in action.

Sweeeeeet.

Man, those old BSA's are so rare on this side of the pond. Hang on to it or just get it over with and sell it to me.

With groups like that i would say its a competitor already forget about the scope.
Thanks for sharing.

Love those old 22's. My "youngest" is 76 (Win 67) and my BSA Martinis are both over 80 yrs of age. Stick with the peep sights and try it with something like Ely Target or CCI Standard Velocity. Once you find an ammo it likes, you'll have no problem getting nickle-size 5-shot groups at 50yds on a regular basis.

:slap::slap::slap::slap::slap::slap:

Teach the lil'gaffer to shoot this gal.
Think of the bragging rights he'll have.
How many here can say they learned to shoot
peeps as their first starting rifle.
In this day and age, most are getting plastikie thingys.
:slap:

:p

Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna leave it alone and use it to bring me back to the root of shooting sports with the peeps. I just wish my eyes could do as well as this rifle shoots. Hahaha getting old is for the birds.

Try some CCI Standard velocity ammo. My rimfires that shoot Blazer sometimes shoot standards a little tighter at 50yards.

EDIT: Another type of ammo that doesn't get a lot of love, but has worked well for me is the Federal American Eagle lead round nose. In my JW-25a Norinco, I can make tight groups at 50 yards with the iron sights.

went to the range today and started with the CCI Blazer from the bench at 50m then had some fun off hand at 50m and this is what i got. i did change the reticle to the smallest circle.
the three from top to bottom on the left are from the bench and the right column of three are off hand.
man this thing is fun.
I did try some CCI Standard and it was'nt as consistant at 50m.
