No, it's not another Annie love-fest! :D

I bought this gun, a Krico 330, off a fellow CGNer in my search for a BR rimfire. Not being able to afford an Annie (I wouldn't have minded ), I "settled" for this.

Initially you may remember my panicked reaction for not being able to put the bolt back in. After tinkering with it until 4am last night, I was not able to fix it. I got in touch with Krico (super fast email service BTW) and the CGNer, and some dumb luck, I was able to remedy the problem (don't ask me how).

I made my way up to the range and shot about 70-80 rounds through it, using a variety of ammo:

Eley Club Xtra and Lapua Super Club seem to produce the best groups. At 50 I can easily get one ragged hole groups. The others don't seem to work that well. Think I'll stock up on the SC and Xtra :D (pics for target to come soon).

Here are some pics of the rifle:

Inside the Mueller Tactical (decent scope for the money, it'll last till I get my hands on a T36 )

I need to get lower rings because I'm running out of elevation.

The trigger is amazing. I thought my CZ was light, this is easily adjustable with a small screwdriver, to what must be 2oz or lower! A joy to shoot.

The only "problem" is the factory rail-mount bipod is so low, it doesn't allow me to use the rear bag at the same time. I shot all my targets today with front bags and my rear Protector bag. My Joe Cowan rest is on order, won't be done till November...... :(

Anyway, check back later, I'll have the target pics up.

Thanks!

Incidentally I saw that rest today on the range, someone was shooting a muzzleloader with it. Looks pretty snazzy, but my heart is set on the Cowan, so for the next 9 months :( it'll be a longggggg wait.

That's a nice rifle. I had a 320 Krico until last spring and sold it to a fellow CGNer.
If you're running out of elevation you may want to try a set of Burris Signature Zee rings with the inserts. Different inserts front and back will give you forward slope enabling a more centred reticle within the adjustment range of the scope. You want the front of the scope lower than the back
causing you to have to raise the muzzle. In essence giving you more elevation!
All the best

ah nutz I was hoping you were going to send it to me to tinker with for you :D

That is a nice looking rifle for sure, now for the funny stuff, I found a Izhmash CM-2 in the wooden storage box with the smaller wood box containing all of the front sight inserts as well as all the butt stock spacers and arm pit bar. I am working out the details of the money end of it right now but it shall be mine :dancingbanana:

Mark your calendar for the second saturday of March and we will get you over here to shoot the 100 yard match followed by some 50 meter usbr, we can make a day of it and get a group togeather for it.

Looking forward to seeing your target pictures.

Mel, practice deserves the best ammo too :p Man that'll be a busy weekend for me. April 4 the Mission BR match, then right after that I gotta drive down to Kamloops, stay overnight and on the 5th there's the F-Class clinic I'm attending. Lotta shootin' that weekend! :50cal::50cal:

Dave, speaking of the arm pit bar, that's mainly for shooting 3p am I right? Or could one use it effectively for BR as well?
Oh yeah, lend me your Cowan in March. Sandbags suck. I shall be riding the ferry with my guitar case :D

Anyhoo, here are the target pics. The numbers are edge-to-edge, I didn't bother to minus them by .22. All are five shot groups shot over 50 yards, sandbags for front rest, rear bag, with a Mueller Tac on 25x.

that I forget brand looks promissing :D
We'll flip a quarter for the Cowan LOL
And no the armpit bar is no good for BR work

Go to the American Rimfire Association website and check their target as that is what will be used in Mission. It is a reverse scoring system. The targets are printed on 11 x 17 paper, and I has 25 printed on card stock which is a little heavier but the holes are punched cleanly with no argument as to whether they are in or out.

Haha I had to do a double-take on what you meant about the "I forget brand" P Actually, I think the bottom Club Xtra is wrongly marked, that's where the "I forget" should have been. Then the "I forget" should be on the mid-bottom. ;)

I plan to practice a lot in the coming weeks, don't want to embarrass myself at the matches :D

Mel, how many people do you expect will participate in the April match? And do you have a rough estimate of what time it will end? I gotta drive to Kamloops right after for the F-class clinic the morning after... :)

Nice rifle!

Try some CCI Standard Velocity and Mini-Mags out of it too.

I pitted them against Lapua Match at 25 and 50 meters (out of a Anschutz Silhouette) and didn't see any real difference.

I do not know how many will come but may get a better idea after the newsletter comes out. There will be an information meeting at the Mission Club House at 8:00 AM with set-up occurring after that followed by the shoot.
Look forward to meeting you; Bring your friends and pass the word. This is an open shoot, and one would not have to be a club member to participate but membership applications will be available as well as some arm twisting to join the club. There are eight cement benches. Since I have never shot this competition before, we will all be in for some learning. I was told there have only been 5 perfect targets out of over a million shot. One of the things to be discussed at 8:00 will be whether we wish to be part of the American Rimfire Association.
If anyone wishes further information locally, and so I can compile a list, please email me at:
