Just received my new German SIG P220 from Armacoat. Pistol looks great and feels good in my hand.

Haven't fired it yet but noticed a problem.

With the hammer down when i push the magazine release the magazine will drop freely most of the time. When the hammer is cocked the magazine will only drop 1.25" and I have to pull it out with resistance felt. When the slide is locked the magazine will only drop 1cm and it takes even more force to pull it out. This is with an empty magazine and the gun hasn't been fired other than at the factory.

Has anybody else experienced this? Is there a fix? I'd like the magazine to drop freely as I'd like to do a few ipsc matches with it.

maybe your trigger bar is warpped and pushing against your mag in SA "how is your SA trigger pull?"
 
SA trigger pull seems ok.

I cleaned the pistol and frog lubed it along with the mags it seems to drop easier now. Still gets stuck when the slide is locked. Hopefully it'll be okay after breaking in.
 
Clean the mags and the inside of the frame. Lots of brown crap from the factory. Cleaned mine and it's now perfect. I love my German 220!
