I bought a low round count used stock Kimber 9mm for IPSC and decided to see what I could do to it to make it a little more competitive. I have no gunsmithing experience except for adding some sight and 3.5 lb connector to a Glock.
I wanted to keep the cost down so I looked for items that I thought I'd be able to do and not screw up to bad. I didn't want to pay a gunsmith to fix my mistakes.
So here it is all dressed up. I installed Meprolight adjustable night sights, a Wilson Combat magwell extender and a Wislon Combat extended and oversized mag release button. I also added grip tape to the front strap and when I had the pistol apart I polished some of the trigger components.
If I can do this and not screw it up, anyone can. I took the advice of a few people and left the dremmel in the drawer when I polished the parts. Hope this motivates someone to step out of their comfot zone and try something.
