I know if I was machining a action to shed it of weight I would be worried about it twisting or changing shape by relieving internal tension . Must have to keep it very cool and go slow

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I much prefer the BRH for hunting. I find the BRX too fine for hunting in low light (but still legal) conditions.

Update I ended up keeping the gun the way it is but I switched the scope and when a Leupold vx-3 2.5-8x36. this gun has been fantastic. Shoots under three quarters of an inch with 120 grain Barnes ttsx
