My new old SKS

I got er done. The pin rattles better it sounds more healthy and metallic, so I'm off to go shooting now. I'm still open to advice on what to use for getting the rust off my trigger assembly springs for the next cleaning if anyone knows a good product. I'd like to get at least most of it off.
 
Well the gun works great. No slam fires. I did half to aim slightly to the left when shooting, I notice that the front sight post is not 100% centered. Can anyone tell me how to move it left or right?
 
when marstar had them in stock a little while ago, I bought 2...

if you look at the big fat pin that the front sight post threads into, it should be stamped for centered windage (close but not bang-on), mine was way off when I bought it (stamp marks didn't line up), and had to be adjusted before it shot straight...I actually fine tuned my 54 izzy a bit today.

initially to even get it to move, the tool was not enough, I had to use various odds and ends, and sockets and stuff in a bench vise to break it free, now I can use the tool to adjust it any which way.

I have knocked out pins that were bears to drive out, and then hammered them back in. Not loose. I have a couple of near new SKSs that have the pins fall right out when you tip it on the side and shake it. Never considered it a problem.

...me too...i boil them to boot...and then use solvent...

Ive never had a slam fire and take my bolt apart every time i clean my gun. The first time getting the one pin out might be a pain but after that its pretty easy.
