My new Ruger 10/22

Well I finally got the last of the pieces I needed to finish my build but here is my new Ruger 10/22. Going out tomorrow to shoot it and tune it in but looks sweet and feels very light and balanced, hopefully it shoots as nice as it looks. Shout out to Supernova for giving me a hand with it and my Tavor tonight :rockOn:

Is it still a Ruger 10/22 when nothing is Ruger ? :)

Hogue thumbhole stock
Kidd ultralight barrel with Dlask XB5 linear compensator
Kidd single stage trigger pack
Kidd bolt with firing pin and extractor along with charging handle, guide rod and spring
Nikon Prostaff rimfire 3x9 scope

Oh lol thats not a scratch on the stock it seems to be a stray dog hair from my pup got into the photo

The Hogue stock is very nice indeed the thumbhole is big enough that it feels more like a pistol grip when you hold it and the back hook on the bottom of the buttstock allows me to bring back my left arm pointed back along my right arm and cup the back of the stock between my left thumb and pointer finger to make a solid grip for stability shooting off a table its very comfortable the integrated cheek weld works great I used medium rings to mount the scope to get a good cheek weld, and of course the rubbery feel of the hogue is nice. Overall that is one nice stock no doubt, I have no regrets in the purchase its a joy to shoot.

Not sure about the weight I could try the bathroom scale but not too accurate but its less then a wood stock a bit more then the factory synthetic one.

As for the receiver I bought the one with the integrated rail just for its added strength and solidness and I don't have to add a rail held by little screws its a very nice receiver a 100 times better then a stock ruger receiver.

I shot a couple hundred rounds today and after sighting it in at 30 yards the groups I shot were mostly nickel sized with a few quarter size and few dime sized but overall it shot great considering I used crappy Winchester golden duds and some federal bulk. The federal shot better but the golden duds lived up to their reputation and had a few failure to fire but after a couple tries they eventually went pew but for crappy ammo and being a 22 it shot better then expected I would say. Plus I freely confess I am not a super pew pew sniper so for me it shot better then I did no question. I'm sure sticking it in one of thoses stands and all that fancy dancy stuff it would shoot the ticks off a flea at 800 yards tho :)

Oh ya if your more tactical then the gun shoots better I totally forgot about that :) A guille suit for sure would allow shooting of 0.0000000000046" groups at 1000 yards if it doesn't then the gun is crap and should be thrown away, Well according to all the internet pew pew super snipers who play call of duty 20 hrs a day in their moms basement that like to post how big their epeen is :rolleyes:

Ya it is a very nice stock and I am super happy with it I had no issues gun related at all and only a couple ammo issues, I hope to burn up this crap ammo and grab some good ammo like CCI at some point to shoot if ever found lol

I've been getting a good supply of CCI from P&D over the last couple of months, I check with them regularly, buy it and then pick up next trip down to Edmonton. I'm down to 9999 rounds of it so I should start stocking up again before I run out :)
 
It's definitely a nice rifle! Zero malfunctions with Federal and a bunch of duds with Rem ammo. The trigger is amazing, better than Savage's accutrigger and more comparable to a 2 lb Timney. The Kidd bolt dropped into the receiver with no fitting and slides like a custom fitted bolt in a polished Ruger receiver. The stock is nice, I normally don't like thumbholes but this one I like.
