Just a little project I did recently. Stripped the shellac and did some light sanding. Finished with 4 coats of boiled linseed oil. I think the laminate looks nicer than the old patched up refurb stock I had.

Very nice, even though I also like shellac and use it on some of my projects. Another option would be (real) tung oil.
