M96 sporter, has scope bases, modded bolt. Looks like a aftermarket stock too.

Many years ago , when those surplus Swede's started coming into Canada , a friend bought 1 for $125. ( I think) with some surplus ammo.
I shot it for him to check the sighting , as his eyes where not the best. At the 100 yd. bench , a group of 3 shots where inside 3/4".
I was very impressed & never forgot that. After making many sporters for hunters I am still "In Respect" of those guns & cal.

Excellent thread I do love my Swede, though I don't actually own an old milsurp, it's a new fangled Tikka. I need to get myself an M96 to go with it.

an old swede with the original military cartridge and a good barrel is as good as any bolt action rifle you can buy today.

I bought my M/96 with Soderin sight from Trade Ex two years ago, and it remains my most accurate rifle. Highly recommend purchasing one.
