I am not sure if this is the right forum but I am giving it a try anyways. No permanent alterations whatsoever , everything is reversible to the original configuration. No harm done to the rifle at all.

I like, but I don't know what it is exactly....

It is a very rare Valmet Hunter in 30-06. Of all the Valmet Hunters (.308 , .243 , .223 , 30-06 )this one is the least common. Only 26 of those were imported in the late 80s by Stoeger. From what I have learned so far only 3 or 4 are in Canada. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Am I correct in assuming that is a BAR magazine in the rifle?
Bravo!!! Bulls-eye !!!! It was modified by reshaping the "lips" and TIG welding both front and rear catches.
There are original 9 round mags for this rifle but all in private hands (Sako doesn't make them anymore) and if someone could be convinced to part with one the price would be sky high. The 5 rounders go for US$200.00 and up.

Wow! Valmet?

How well does it shoot with that scope? Are you getting MOA?
The scope is a low end Bushnell 3x9x50. I am hitting a pop can at 100m consistently. This scope will be gone as soon as the Falcon Menace 4.5x18x56 lands at my door on Friday. Will try a toonie at 100m then:D

Very nice, Kasat.

Seems that you have mixed in a lot of parts from many different rifles, but the end result looks very good.

Also, from my research .243 Win Hunters are actually even less common in Canada than the .30-06 ones. Where did you get the "26" figure from? Im not doubting you, just curious as i have done A LOT of research on Valmets and have never came across this figure.

Also, some minor midifications to the reciever HAVE to be done in order to install the pistol grip.

The wood furniture was all done by myself. I have only removed the piece of steel covering the trigger hole in order to install the AK trigger group forward. The original trigger group was removed and can be easily placed back in the receiver. No modification to install the pistol grip , I just made a custom nut that fits like a glove and made custom trigger guard the front of which just slips into the cavity at the top of the mag release bracket, no harm to the receiver there. The 26 figure comes from a Google search on this particular rifle , that's all. I did not know that .243 were even less common. Thanks for the info.

Ah, you used a custom trigger guard. That makes sence. Usually when you use trigger guards from existing rifles (Valmets, Galils, etc), they tend to "pull" the pistol grip towards the magazine, and you need to extend the original Hunter trigger hole in the receiver slightly forward to center it with the mounting hole on the pistol grip.
The steel plate that you removed can be riveted back to the reciever if needed.

Did you make both the stock and forearm yourself? They look like M78 Stock and Galil forearm.
