Thanks to a top notch Gunnut.

I've wanted a nice .308 Model 70 for awhile, and got this sweetheart on a trade on the EE. I got it on time from Canada Post Today. (Really, I'm not ####ting ya!) I picked her up after work and ripped the package apart carefully. There were a few other goodies in there I didn't want to damage. The rifle looks good, except for a few dings in the stock. If I get bored this Winter, it might get sanded down and oiled, but we'll see. Anyways, I ripped her apart and was pleasantly surprised to see the barrel was full length bedded, as well as the action. The trigger was a bit heavy, so I knocked it down to a nice light 2 or 3 pounds. I cleaned and oiled the bottom and put her back together and bump tested her, no worries. Then I mounted my trusty Leupold 3-9 Rifleman and snugged it down. Next up is going to be a good cleaning with copper solvent, then the fun begins. I ordered some Norma brass last Night from another excellent nut, and managed to dig out 60 some pieces of Winchester brass I had kicking around. I found my old RCBS dies, now I get to play with a load. I would like to use the 150 grain Ballistic tip, but have some 165 Hornady Interlocks and SST's to try as well. I can't wait to get this one to the range, I think she's gonna be a gooder. :)
