My new truck gun! (CZ bolt action in 7.62x39)

The later 527s had a modified bolt handle that allowed for better scope clearance. I'm not sure if the parts are still available, but you could easily retrofit an older model (I did this to my 7.62x39 carbine to fit a leupold scope).

I need a new picture...
My carbine in 223 in the middle, it had the old style bolt handle and i replaced it with a new style one.
The sako on top in 17rem has been replaced by one in 223
The howa mini on the bottom was sold to someone on the ee

I like actions sized for the cartridge, and is probably why I can't bring myself to buy a tikka.

It's really too bad they stopped making the CZ527 mini mauser action in favor of the CZ600 that I guess is trying to out A-bolt the A-bolt? Dunno, but it's not for me. These older ones though are awesome little mag fed controlled round feed wonders. This one is in 7.62x39, which will give my .30-30's a run for their money for handy carry around options this fall.

So when you say truck gun, does it live in your truck or is this just the one you grab to keep in your truck when you are farming or something? I keep seeing “truck gun” all over. I’m a city boy but I do go out to the farm and the woods a decent amount. Do I need a truck gun?

It "living" in my truck, strictly speaking, would be problematic in terms of storage laws. It's the gun in the truck when I'm at the farm.

Most days tho, I'm a city boy too.

Copy that. I thought maybe there was something I didn’t know about and you kept it locked in your truck and it was legal or something along those lines.

35 years ago, I had a gun rack in my ranger rear window and I did leave a gun or two in there pretty much all the time. Times have changed though, it’s not the same Canada any more.
 
Sort of depends where you are in Canada - when I see buddy Mike on the road - in his truck - "bet yer britches", there is a rifle with him. I think his latest "favourite" is a Ruger 77 Compact in 243 Win - at least the last one that he showed me was - for "stuff". There are several advantages to a "short" rifle when you are in a pick-up truck cab.
 
I have a “quad gun”. Every time I go out on my quad, it’s in the scabbard. Wolves are open 365 days a year where I live. The gun is my CZ600 Alpha in 7.62x39.
