I met a guy who is rebuilding a WW1 Sopwith Pup replica for display. After a bit of a chat, I found he did not have a gun to go with it. So, for the sake of my hobby I decided to build a replica for him. It was made in about 25 hrs out of odds and ends I had lying around. Basic wood structure clad in sheet metal. Size is pretty close to spec. The cocking-charging handle was from door parts and the ammo belt was canvas strips I glued together. For the purists, the ammo is spent 30-06. I know, I know. It should be 303 but I hoard that stuff. And I had a lot of 308 bullets that I rarely use to complete the dummies.
The charging handle is spring loaded and feels like it is operating. Gives the kids something to play with. I had a lot of fun building it and will post pics when it is mounted.

Don't have an airplane to go with my Vickers just have it mounted on the tripod.
Haven't gotten around to shooting the Bren or the Lewis this year. Just to damm hot

Damned Yankees. My only chance to shoot machine guns up here in the cold north is when I was in the army. I envy you. A lot...
