I picked up this Marlin Model No17-G 12 gauge pump (bottom one) today. This is a very interesting gun. Has a external hammer (same sort of thing as a marlin rifle action) and a ugly Polly choke. Someone did some bird artwork in the stock. Seems to be a pretty solid gun. The top one is a Union Firearms model 24 12 gauge pump. I thought they looked good together so I decided to add it in.

greyman,
If you are planning to shoot your 17-g you should have it examined by a smith. The 17-g was discussed recently and there was a gun smith alert discussed. Google list a bunch of stuff on this gun as well as the alert.

Ya I heard about that. As soon as I get the money I am going to take it to a smith and have it checked out. I ran some tests that were posted on the marlin collector forums and it passed every test. Even after I get it checked out I am going to mount it to a table and fire it with a string.

Nice looking gun. I agree that the poly choke does not look so good...but they are fun to play with and offer a quick and effective alternative to internal choke tubes. My Mossberg had a select -A-choke on it and I always had fun with that olt bolt 12G
