Well my new receiver turned up yesterday ready for my first build (my other three m14's were purchased assembled).
This is going to be first build, and without the luxury of m14 gunsmiths locally it is going to have to be a do-it-yourself job with all the information gain from this and other forums please all the m14 books i have.
So far so good the barrel hand tight times to about 7.00 oclock so hopefully all would be good.
The discolouration in the photos is the excessive oil on the receiver when it was sent, and not cleaned off yet.
Here is a pic of the receiver alongside the winchester barrel that is going into the build.
Markings on the receiver:
In the stock:
And next to its younger siblings, TRW and HR.
Once this is built the only one remaining will be the springfield
Many thanks go out to Turf, whom as been of great help during my m14 addiction
