Congrats! Nice so far. Did you just cut the front site post? If you are looking for a red dot I recommend the Lucid HD7. I have one on my Norinco CQ and love it.

Looks much nicer with a railed handguard. Good job.

Just need an updated grip & stock and you'll be set !

Optics I'd save for last, and go with something decent (EoTech or Trijicon).

Never used a Lucid, but they seem to be a good optic for the price. I'd get the doubler though.

Yup just took it off and ground it down, sprayed it with some black bbq paint, very budget

not had 1 miss fire, jam ect. I have three norc (2x 1911, 1 AR) never had a problem with any

Ya its still the standard norc one, still want to change up the grip and stock as mentioned

Laughed about the light.

Easy there on the light. Those Costco LED flashlights have helped me nab a number of people. I don't run out of battery power due to the LED, it works fine, compact with the button on the back. If I lose one in a chase well who cares. . I don't have to worry about going back for it.

That being said they are cheap pieces. The glass lens has a habit of coming lose and rattling along with un focussing the beam. I think they used some kind of cheap glue to hold the glass lens to the metal housing.

Why didn't you just remove the front sight and replace with a low-pro gas block?

I'm in the process of a similar build, and wondering if all these front sights are as impossible to get off as mine was??
