Hello all,

Heres my norc M4 as it is so far. Got the ergo grip and vortex strikefire today!

Not pictured is the yet to be put on yankee hill free float rail and troy vertical battle grip.

Hopefully soon it will also have a flip up rear sight and magpul ctr stock.

Hot, I have a Norc just like you and was thinking about a red dot that wasn't too pricey. Anything that had any magnification, even 1.5x-2x would be so sweet.

Mind if I ask if you can report back about how you like this optic / combo please? :)

I have the vortex/nork combo and for under 1000$ you cant really beat it, its my first AR and has made me fall in love with the platform now i really really wanna try out an AR-10 :)
Here she is by the way, all plane jane.

Have not shot with the vortex yet, but just from messing around, you notice the parralax but it goes away after ~50yards or so. the dot looks splotchy to me but I wear glasses/contacts and they blur the dot ever so slightly. The dot looks ok when you find a good distance/stance to look through it. The 2x magnifier works ok, makes co witness look funny but also tightens up the dot into a better focus.

The green looks ok too, and the mount that it is on puts it to a good level. (the one on my m4 in a riser for the low mount ring. so far so good.

For the price combined with the warranty and Canadian market customer service they provided it really cant be beat in my mind, previous to the release of the new 'bright dot only' model the only recurring criticism of the optic was the dot did not go bright enough. Now i can definatly say that it goes more than bright enough (i have mine on the lowest setting). The dot and glass may not be quite as good as an aimpoint but you are paying less that half the price, not to mention the mount and doubler. All and all i am very happy with the optic and it is making me want to start a shorty scout m14 project. To use the CGN cliche 'dont buy one, buy two!'.

cool set up! you guys are killing me with those Norcs I got to get one lol... On the other hand I get to play with one all the time at work... We'll see
