So I bought a Phoenix arms .22 a few months back from IRG, I had an issue right away with the recoil spring/guide rod, it was bent when I first got the pistol. I contacted IRG and they sent me a new spring and guide rod, they were great to deal with. Anyways, since then I've put about 1500 rounds through this little gun and it's been a blast! I've tried every type of ammo I can find and it's eaten everything without a hickup. Last weekend I took it to the range as always to shoot in between my other pistols, I got through half a mag when the gun failed to fire, not a big deal I figured cause I was shooting Winchester white box and the same day I had issues with it in the 10/22. So I racked the slide, ejecting the round and chambering a new one, pulled the trigger and this tine the round went off and at the same time the hammer assembly blew out of the gun, the spring bounced off my safety glasses. I was able to find the parts and it looks like the hammer broke where it is held into the frame by a pin. The pin is still in the gun but the hammer seared off. Anyways, I'm going to contact IRG about this, I'm not sure what the warranty is on these pistols but at 1500 rounds it's hardly broken in. Now I'm down my little Plinker so I hope we can sort this out quickly. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Maybe contact the manufacturer and ask them to send you a new hammer. If not look for it online perhaps someone sells parts for it.

I think there is a few known issues with these guns.

I held off because of all the mixed reviews, and I am glad I did.

Sometimes it isnt worth buying these cheap guns... Ive learned that lesson over the years...

Looks like a cheap pot metal hammer with poor support on the pivot point.

Assuming you have the tools, and they don't make aftermarket ones, I would build a new hammer.

Get the same thickness of plate steel and cut the rough shape of the old hammer. Then file it to the final shape.

Some people just never learn, you get what you pay for. Phoenix Arms are 100% disposable junk marketed for the gangbanger market. Its the classic "thug" gun. Carried lots, shown off, but shot very little.

You likely won't find parts, and its really not worth it.

ETA: According to their website, a new hammer retails for $3.50, That should be a clue.

how much do these pistols cost new?

and TDC above picked up on the point.....for 350 you can get a browning buckmark that you will give to your grandkids....sorry your pistol broke, but minor research and common sense would have told you what you where buying into. Heck, the 22 norinco pistols are a far better buy, at least they're made of steel

Yeah those M93's are solid little guns I had one before getting the GSG..

Back to the topic, the the guy needs some help no need to make him feel like ####.

Here you go, $7.40 for the hammer pretty sure they ship to Canada. w w w.gunpartscorp.com/Products/734810.htm

Thanks for the links guys, I'll order a hammer and get it together. I knew that this was an inexpensive gun when I bought it, but it is very small in size and I thought it would be good to teach my son (8 yrs) to shoot with it. He enjoys my other pistols and revolvers but they are all heavier than this little Phoenix, this pistol wasn't meant to be a life long piece, just something simple and small for he and I to plink with when I take him to the range. I did however expect it to last longer than it did.
