Not sure if this is the right place but it started as a milsurp. I had a Savage No4 that was ftr'd to MkII but had a cut barrel and was improperly drilled for scope mounts So I made a few changes.

Ok, that does look nice - curious about: how is the bedding of the action, what are the contact points to manage recoil between action and wood stock?

Bedded at 3 points, front of reciever around front screw boss, behind what is left of the wrist close to receiver and around the block that is welded on for the rear screw. Trigger guard is also bedded. Stock is Russian Birch plywood but planning to make a better one if it is fairly accurate for hunting, going to range soon.

A "silk purse out of a sow's ear". Well done!

Ellwood Epps used to convert Lee-Enfields to eliminate the two piece stock. Not sure if they went the same route as you.
