Why is the scope mounted so far forward on this one

I have the LRPV in 22-250 with a 1-9 twist barrel that I got off of a .223 and I have the same problem with mine but I am still working on load development.

It's done in a scout format. The scope has an extra long eye relief (like a pistol scope.)
I believe it's advantage is fast acquisition of the target.
General consensus of a scout rifle is that the scope should be a max. of 3x power. The low magnification allows the shooter to have both eyes open and helps with quick acquisition of the target.

It is an Ler scope mounted for fast target aquisition.

Where did you get your .223 barrel?
 
I got my barrel from a guy off of here by the name 6ppc shooter I think his name is ? Great guy to deal with
Wow you really did tighten those groups up.
I have never seen a scope set up like that before I would like to try one out some day .

Juan, Tac got the barrel from me. I regretted selling it so I bought another 223 LRPV. I now have a 2 LRPV, a 204 and 223. I have the single shot low pro 22-250 which had the barrel you are buying from me. It will soon be a 20 Vartarg. I also have a 243 FV, a Model 40 22 hornet, a long action BVSS waiting for a 6.5-284 barrel and a 17 hmr and a Model 10II muzzle loader.

Just ordered a shilen prefit for my LRPV. 12 twist 6MM BR, 28" straight contour. Traded your 22/250 bbl for a blue and black laminated LR bench rest stock from SSS inleted for the new target action. That 22-250 bbl sure shoots very painful letting it go but I needed the stock. Also did some horse trading for an 8 twist pacnor in 6 BR, putting it on my stevens action.
