Hi all

Here is a picture of my last project. I had a modified Axis in 223 (12VLP heavy barrel, rifle basix trigger, 20 moa base, new stock, etc). I bought a 30-06 Axis for deer hunting, and I got my hand on a Savage 12 heavy barrel in 308. Then wheels started spinning, and I got this.

One benchrest stock, one hunting stock, and one f-class/long range kinda stock. Then 2 barreled action, 223 with 1:7 twist (stainless barrel) and 308 with 1:10 twist (black barrel) Both action have the same footprint, I am pretty sure they will share the bedding without problem. I'll have the recoil key in each stock, no need to swap those. I also have 2 scopes, one in 8-32 x 50, and the other in 3-9 x 50.

So all I have to do is choose components, assemble, zero scope, and shoot ! And I can add components to the mix any time I like.

All I have to do to finish this up is do the pillar bedding on the hunting stock, adapt a cabinet to hold all components, devellop a load for the 308, and shoot at targets !

Next step is to pick up barrels in different calibers.... a 6BR in the mix and you will never look back :)

If I want another caliber, I could also pick up another Axis action, swap the barrel, and add a 20 moa base.
My next purchase will probably be another scope, in 6-24 or something. 3-9 is perfect for hunting, but a bit lacking for targets, even at 100m when develloping loads.
