My SIG was biting casing today. WHY?

Was shooting my Blue Star today and noticed bite marks on ejected shells today. It was still firing OK, but I have never noticed this before. There was two bite marks on opposite sides, one closer to the top ,one closer to the bottom. Anybody has any idea why?

It's obvious, your gun has turned into a vampire. I suggest you smother it in garlic.

check your gas switch.

I have not touched the gas switch. It is set the way it was before. I have not cleaned gas system for a while. Can it be the reason?

That could be a reason. Could it also come from something in or near the chamber? Issue with the extractor? Anything in the chamber or barrel that could leave those marks?

All of the SAN rifles do that. That is how they operate. The casing rotates out of the receiver and hits the side then is tossed forward.

Nope. Sigs are known to beat the crap out of brass. Mine does.

Mine mangled brass too. BUT always tosses it a few meters at 2:30...tidy

You'll notice a scratch mark behind the ejection port, put a few layers of electrical tape there or something similar.
