My SKS has gone crazy

Hi everyone!

I don't know if it already happened to somebody but here is the thing


I went shooting yesterday, got my sks. I shot about 80 rounds...

Every 20 rounds or so...2 rounds fired while i pulled the trigger only once. Like if it was going automatic for 2 rounds. really weird.... (I will try to post a video on youtube to show you but I can't guarantee it is gonna be soon)

I always clean my rifle, never try to play rambo with it...so I really don't know what could be the problem

Your firing pin stuck in foward position causing it to fire multiple rounds without pulling the trigger,it's called the slam fire a common problem with sks with a free floating fire pin.

Solution,get the murray firing pin with a return spring,sksman got some.

No need to throw money at a problem that can be cured with 5 minutes of elbow grease. The Russians figured their peasant army could keep the rifle serviceable without a spring, anybody here should be able to as well.
 
Don;t waste your money on a new firing pin.

Take the bolt apart and properly degrease the firing pin channel. when you reassemble it DO NOT LUGE INSIDE THE BOLT. Leave it bone-dry.

The problem should go away.

Were you shooting milsurp ammo or commercial? Some of the commercial ammo is for bolt guns and should not be used in floating firing pin semi-auto guns.

And the murray pin allow to use those soft point hunting ammo.
 
My Norc doubled a couple of times while shooting commercial, it has not done this with Milsurp so I just stick to that. I also have a Poly marked SKS and it seems to be OK with commercial as do my Russian's.

how would you tell the disconnector is worn?
 
How about not , point 1 being the sks was never meant to be fired on full automatic , 2 is stupid and dangerous and 3 dont forget its unfortunately and ###ly illegal .

Our ATT instructor last weekend told us about a gentleman who had one of his pistols , didnt say what brand , go into full auto and start firing off bursts of 5 and 6 , they not only had him remove it from the range but he was told to take it home before the police were called .

Nope, to start, charge him with possessing an unregistered prohibited weapon, to wit, a firearm that fires more than one shot per trigger-pull... a fully automatic firearm, what the evening news will call a "Machine gun!!" (with both exclamation points)

x2, won't be surprised if that happened. When they start reading charges, have a pillow under your jaw to prevent it from hitting the floor, hurts less. And no, it doesn't have to make sense, it never has.
