I always see slip on's on Mausers and Mosin's, is the recoil really that much more than .303 british?

My Mosin wears a recoil pad as well and I find it makes the rifle much more comfortable to shoulder. Honestly never tried to shoot it without the pad but may have to try it out next time I'm at the range.

So my next milsurp will possibly be a Brno mauser or possibly another mosin since they're so cheap and awesome
Very nice collection! Except the Snider it actually closely resembles my own, including the Brno made Israeli Mauser. Is yours in 8mm or 7.62? I bought mine without getting photos first because it was in economical 7.62 caliber, and while it's in "good" condition I think yours is much nicer looking. Mine has this (in my opinion) ugly wood grain with light spots speckling it everywhere. Looks good from far away, but up close it looks like plywood or particle board.
