My Sterling TSR build

I know that. My point was that they are pretending this one is.

Which is why the ATRS law suit is SO IMPORTANT to win. I know many have already donated, but the battle is just beginning which means it is going to get expense shortly.
Talking with Rick the other day they just filed their response to the statement of defence that the gubberment filed.
Now comes the costs for expert witnesses, business evaluations and lots of lawyerism. Lets help them to help us.

The FRT is not a legal document. The RCMP website states this quite clearly.
It is a catalogue of firearms.
Classifications listed in the FRT reflect decisions which have been made.
If a classification was made in error, without legal basis, then it should be challenged.

One of the things they count on is that the vast majority of people don't have the knowledge or financial means to challenge it in court.

Seems to be working well for them. They just keep prohibiting and add them on the FRT list knowing most legal gun owners will just comply. :(

How would the average owner even realize that the RCMP has "prohibited" the firearm if they are not an active community member and internet user? Imagine some old fogey gets pulled over on the way home from the range and gets charged with a prohibited firearm. This unfortunate event could bankrupt and ruin somebody's life.

Less so with this SAI , but an old mini 14 or M14 for sure it's gona happen.

Frt is not law. Anyone here bring ATRS MS or TSR out to range or crown land to have fun?

FRT is not law.
Classifications in the FRT reflect decisions that have been made.
Are the classifications legally binding?
The FRT lists the Thompson submachinegun as prohibited. Because the FRT is not a legal document, I guess that means that the Tommy gun is not prohibited after all.
The reasons and justifications for classifications vary. Until the dust settles, is the Sterling prohibited?

The Thompson is prohibited by name in the regulations. The Sterling was non-restricted by way of being a carbon copy of the Modern Sporter, which was determined to be non-restricted by the RCMP classification team some years ago. The FRT change is the only thing that has changed with regards to the classification of the Modern Sporter / Sterling, and the FRT is not law but rather the opinion of individuals. So no, the Sterling is not "legally / lawfully" prohibited. Neither is the Modern Sporter.

I suspect 2022 may be the year where the FRT is officially given the green or the red light to be considered law.

Yes, there are varying reasons for the classifications in the FRT.
Stating that it is not a legal document is pointless.
The reasons for the classifications are important and vary.
Sooner or later, things are going to be clarified.
The "evergreen" classifications and reclassifications are going to be subject to scrutiny, and binding decisions will be made - one way or the other.

Yes. The pending scrutiny is critical, and widely anticipated I am sure.
