The top 4 pistols that I use are displayed below. I like to find out what everyone else considers to be there best top 4. I use all 4 on a regular basis when shooting. They are all in .40S&W which is my preferred calibre. Even though all 4 are damn accurate, I'll rate them in order of preference.

1 - Glock 35 - What can I say, I'm a Glock nut. As a result, this is my number 1 shooter. Extremely accurate and a fun gun to shoot, strip down to nothing, clean then put it back together and shoot. I've got to hand it to Gaston. He got it right with the Glock
2 - S&W M&P40L - This Performance Centre CORE pistol is fantastic. It's on par with the Glock. With it's adjustable trigger stop and factory tuned sear, you can't beat this for accuracy. Unfortunately, being the Glock fan that I am, I placed this at the number 2 position.
3 - Sig P320 - What can I say, this is another gem of a pistol. You can't beat the accuracy and quality of any SIG pistol and this is no exception.
4 - Springfield XDm-40 with the 5.25 matched grade barrel is one terrific pistol. The only drawback for me is the grip safety. Otherwise then that this is an extremely accurate pistol. If it wasn't for the grip safety, it would have been my number 2 pistol.

My top 4:
1. Sig P226 Dark Elite .40 S&W- it's a P226, not much else to say, it's pretty much awesome in every way, and in my favourite cal, the .40 S&W! This gun is just effortless to shoot well, I like the SRT trigger and the aluminum grips just melt into my hand. The night sights are really cool too. My go to pistol for sure.
2. S&W M&P .40 S&W- My first ever pistol, I put the Apex DCAEK in it, the trigger is really sweet now. I've always found the grip to be a little slippery, hence the Talon sandpaper grip. Love this gun.
3. Beretta 92FS 9mm- This is a gun I bought used (serial # dates it 1992) to more or less try it out, my main attraction I admit is simply that I love the look of these guns. It has really grown on me however, to the point I'm considering getting another one, either a 92A1 or 96A1. This pistol has the silkiest smoothest action I've ever felt, and the trigger has really nice, sharp break that I like.
4. S.A.M. 1911 Commander Enhanced .45ACP- Currently my one and only 1911, but I'm really starting to like this thing. I can definitely see more 1911's in my future. If only 45 wasn't so expensive...

I love mine equally.

P226 Extreme in 9mm
SR1911 and Glock 41 Gen 4 in 45 ACP
M&P40 with Apex flat faced trigger kit, also 9mm conversion barrel.
G22 Gen 4, also with 9mm barrel.

P226 9mm
P226 .357
P226 .40
Glock 19

OP, you need hammer on one of those guns!

Actually I do have a wheel gun. It's my one and only wheeler. It's a Taylor converted Uberti Cattleman 45LC. The action on this piece is as smooth as silk. That's what Taylor does. They fine tunes Uberti's, stamp their name on the pistol and sell it.

How do you like the Apex flat faced trigger kit? Does it help to improve your accuracy?

Love it. It definitely helps on the accuracy because the short pre-travel and over-travel, and then most importantly the follow-up shots are so much faster due to the much lighter trigger(I am using the 4lb spring). compared to the regular apex kit(which I have been on the fence), the flat face really does what apex claims, to mimic 1911 trigger as you don't have to hold the finger in the middle of the trigger, but just touch it more naturally anywhere you feel comfortable which was the main reason for me as I never really mind the factory trigger that much. Still, I felt the difference, big time. now love shooting 40S&W even more. :)

Colt 1911 Government Model .45 (Colt 1991 or Series 70 Repro)
Beretta M9
HK MARK 23
Glock 17/19 or 21/21SF

Ultimate line-up

A Colt M1911A1 & Beretta M9 are staple. An HK MARK 23 is the Holy Grail of Special Operations Offensive Combat Pistol in my all time favorite calibre .45 ACP....and the amazingly practical & tactical Glock 17 or 21 gotta be 3rd Gen Austria marked (all others blow)
