So I have recently updated my rifle I built about one year ago. I wasn't fully satisfied with my previous choate varmint stock as it didn't fit my needs. The rifle shot very well but like I said, I wanted a stock with an adjustable cheekpiece that would fit me well. I did all of the smith work myself last year. I recently picked up a choate tactical custom stock for a decent price. I did have to grind the rear bedding block so the rifle woulf sit properly in the stock. I then bedded the rifle and put it all back together. I am satisfied with my rifle. It's chambered in 260 rem and sports a Shilen match grade barrel. The action used was off a savage 10FP. It is topped off with a Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25x50mm with a TMR reticle. I can't wait to take it out again. Anyways, here are some pictures

Before, with unfired brass it hangs around the 1/2 moa mark. Haven't tried it since I put the new stock on. I don't imagine it will get any worse. Neck sized, outside neck turned, once fired, brass should yield some nice results.

Looks awesome! Does the tactical custom feel the same as the choate varmint from the tactile perspective? I have a varmint but never liked how it felt.

The texture of the stock is the same... The feel of the stock, in shooting position, is completely different.

X2. I had a varmint and also hated it. I currently run the custom tactical on my 6.5x55 and the ultimate sniper on my .308. The custom tactical is probably 5x as comfortable IMO than either of the other choates I have owned.

Buddy of mine hated the feel of his varminter as well, so he sanded the roughness out using 120 grit on a semi soft sanding block

Screw the look. It feels better. I can adjust this stock to fit me like a glove. The looks are simply a plus. F-open, here I come.
