Hey so everyone knows the stock bottom metal on the Mark II's are garbage so I figured that would be a good place to start upgrading my new Mark II BV. I didn't really like anything I saw others make and sell online so I decided to design my own. I noticed a third trunnion on the action and thought it might be nice to incorporate that seeing as how it's already there. I made the drawing and got it cut out at work on the laser out of 11ga (1/8") and it turned out pretty slick. Fit's perfect and lets me torque down the action screws to 20 in/lbs nice and evenly. I just used the bottom metal as a guide to drill out my stock for the third hole and finished it with a round file. It's too bad those little action screws are impossible to find right now so the third hole will be empty until I can get my hands on one. The short stock screws worked fine which was also a bonus as most people online were saying you needed longer ones with an upgraded bottom metal. If anyone is interested I actually have two extras, shoot me a PM if you'd like one. Here's some pictures, let me know what you think!

that is nice!

I bought the DIP plate and had to wonder why they went with the original savage wood screw when there was that 3rd threaded hole available!

Yeah I was looking at the DIP plates too, seems like they make some good stuff. Just thought it could use a little improving though haha.

Im interested in one actually. I wanted the Stainless one from DIP but I guess shipping is an issue... I get shipping issues with certain parts for guns but a bottom plate seems silly when you could slam the same thing for a toaster in an envelope and send it anywhere.

Nicely done.
If you have a flatbed scanner you could make a .jpg or .pdf file that could used for an exact template and be passed around .

Great idea. looks good! Food for thought, inlet the stock so the plate is flush with the bottom of the stock. That way it looks like factory finish!

Thanks! I was thinking about putting a slight bend in the plate to match the contour of the stock, but was also considering inletting the wood. Inletting would look far better, I'm just a little more concerned about the possibility of permanently ruining my stock haha.
