My Valentine's Day....K98 Search.

Spent my Valentine's Day at Del Selin's looking through a crate of K98s to try and find my Valentine....Here she is!!....Note: She hasn't been cleaned yet as I just got home.....1941 AR Berlin Borsigwalde Arsenal...Mismatched numbers as its an RC....Nice shiny bore with good rifling.....The swastikas are peened but the eagles are still there.....This is my first K98 so any info and opinions are welcomed!!

Nice one.. i was there about 3 weeks ago. i looked at about 3 straight bolt n 3 bent bolt.. i wasn't 100% serious buying one unless i found one i REALLY wanted. A mix of some more peened n marked than others.. it would have been to nice to mix some parts of one to another and have a really nice K98 RC.. good score for you though..

I know....You cant get everything you want...If you could mix n match parts from several rifles that would be awesome....Basically I wanted a early or prewar with a nice bore...then the obvious other stuff...waffenamts/blueing and stock condition as bonuses....This one is early production with a nice bore...pretty good stock...Some of the others had better blueing but that's alright...Also Brandon said he hasn't seen too many ar arsenal rifles.....I love that store!!!!....As a gunnut how can you not like a store that when you walk in the door there are literally 1 million rounds of 7.62/39....a wall of crates....staring you in the face!!!

Looks good! The ar code isn't the most common K98k out there. Not rare but a good find. It's also nice that most of the parts are the proper configuration, such as the bands.
