My XCR. She's not the lightest, but real guns have curves, right?

First post here. I'm a lurker, mostly, but I suppose this is an introduction of sorts.

Just wanted to post up pics of my XCR-L in 5.56 and see what others think! She weighs in at a chunky 12.45 lbs / 5.66 kg.

Dlask adapter, Mil-spec buffer tube, MFT Battlelink stock, Magpul MOE grip, Vanguard Equalizer Pro 2 bipod, Tri-Delta muzzle break, and Weaver Tactical extra high rings holding on the Blackhawk 4-20x50 scope. I think I'm in love.

Oh, and I think the muzzle break is working...

What kind of accuracy are you getting with that beast B?
Just claims at this point really, haven't done any measuring. Best group I've managed so far though, at 100. Mind the messy target, got torn in a thorn bush before picture lol.

Damn that's nice looking. How much did this all cost you?
More than my girlfriend wanted me to spend, haha.

She's a real BBG...(Big Beautiful Gun)

Damn right!

Nice groups, that just goes to show all of those so called "experts" who say the XCR is a 3-4 MOA gun. nonono THEY shoot 4 MOA, then gun shoots 1.5 MOA consistently.

I'm not a great shooter by any stretch of the imagination. That being said, different factory loaded ammunition has had a rather drastic effect on my groupings. Keeping in mind this is a 1 in 9 twist rifle, my best results have (oddly) come from 75gr projectiles. 55gr gave me roughly 3 - 4 MOA results, 62gr tightened that down to about 2 MOA. 69gr match grade ammo was probably the worst of the bunch (Federal Premium Match Kings) at a hard 4 MOA. 75gr Hornady Superformance was what gave me the results pictured earlier.

Nice set up Ban. I haven't thought of the XCR as a target rifle, but it looks like it's working for you.

Lol, I don't even know what to say to that. I'm no expert but maybe you're speaking of the R700 XCR....

I have had the same experience. I have both 7.62 and 223 barrels for my XCR, my 223 barrel is a 1:7 twist and it will not shoot any factory ammo well. 55gr Norinco gives 3-4MOA, 62gr MFS is closer to 5MOA. American Eagle and Winchester White box giving the best factory performance at around 3 MOA.

Hand loading is another story with this one, almost all my rolled ammo shoots under 2.5 MOA.

The 75gr Hornady BTHP match projectiles gave me my best groups. This was a hard gun to find a good load for, it is very sensitive to small changes in charge weight. Using the 75gr Hornady as an example, 24.7grs of varget produced 1.5-2 MOA consitently, but there was always vertical stringing, where jumping to 25gr gave nice and sometimes almost MOA groups. Here are a few 100 yard targets, all shot the same day at 6x mag.

10 rounds Norinco 55gr FMJ (Top two holes were already in the target)

5 rounds 75gr Hornady match with 24.7gr Varget

5 rounds 75gr Hornady match with 25gr Varget

Again 5 rounds 75gr Hornady match with 25gr Varget

Awesome shooting, Zuk. I'm using the Hornady 75gr BTHP match as well. That last group is impressive, the stray is heartbreaking!

Thank you, those were the best two groups of 5 using that load with the other 3 being a bit under 1.5. I plan on using the XCR for Coyote this winter and I'm happy if I can keep it around 2 MOA. I wasn't expecting to find a load it liked this well, but I'm glad I kept playing.

Interesting and very good to know.
