It is hard as a rock and wont leave any marks if scratched with a fingernail. It is not lead. Indeed it is lighter than a ball round.

The previous two posters are correct. It is indoor low lead frangible ammunition. Its what we used to use at The Shooting Edge but for some reason we can't find any right now... I wonder why?

I've got close to 500 frangible bullets in .308" They shoot very well at 100 meters. Haven't found a real use for them yet!
They are not iron but powdered tin and copper composition.

I have about 100 of the bullets in .223, but am unsure where to find load data. I'm thinking it might be fun on a gopher?
