I bought a baggie of ‘62 ammo at the last Kamloops gunshow and I’m looking for information about it.
I pulled apart one of the rounds to take a look at the components.
Here’s a photo of the base. I’m wondering if the ‘N’ means Norma. That’s a Berdan primer so it looks like I won’t be reloading these cases.

The rounds. Some are open hollow point while others are closed hollow points that are plugged with hard wax.

The bullet. Standard weight of 285 gr(284.1 gr with no wax). Bullet is steel-coated(it attached strongly to a magnet).

The powder. Some sort of a flake powder. I’ve fired a couple of these rounds and, judging by the recoil, they aren’t pussy loads. I will be chronographing some in the near future.
