Hey Gang...

I was sorting through some old ammunition and I found a few strange ones.

Take a look and see if you can identify them. The vernier in the background is showing the actual size of the bullet diameter.

The first one is a tiny little bottle shaped round. Nothing stamped on the case.

This one is odd. Looks like 32ACP, but look at the primer and case back. Is this for a toy gun or replica?

First one is a .297/.230 Morris Short.

I think the second is a 6mm. Bergmann, Clement? Just guessing.

It is about a quarter of an inch in diameter, is straight cased, and has a Berdan primer pocket.

Second is an insert to shoot 22LR in a Tokarev.

WAAAAA????
Not even remotely close. It appears to simply be a .25ACP dummy. I can't read the headstamp to ID the maker, but it looks like it might be Belgian or German.

Being a machinist for 37 years, i am wondering about the vintage of that mitutoyo vernier. That must be a classic never seen one with that logo. sorry, nevermind me, as you were.

We have a few old guys at work that have verniers with that logo on it. Im going to guess mid 80's as my manager has a set and he got them in school and has been out for just over 30 years now.

Evanguy from d series i am guessing? Small world brother.

Sure is man, still have 2 ef civics, one on a rotisserie in the garage, still building d-series.(more time working on rifles now adays though) I figured this was you one day i seen you and darin posting back and forth in a thread about the 50cal pellet gun you were building

Back in the day, these were considerably less money than Starrett; now Mitutoyo seem to be the industry standard.

Yeah it seems so. I have a mix of both types my self all my mics and dials are starrett and my digi calibers and small machining tools are mitutoyo (edge finder, protractor, telescopic gagues, combo square)

At work all the tools bought around ten years ago and older were/are all sterrett and now all the newer tools are mitutoyo lately. Tried a few other brands but for dayily use they just dont cut it. Starrett and mitutoto are what to use, unless you are starting out and can find some OLD More and Wright for cheap. Or other made in England/Europe tools.

This one will prove difficult for almost everyone. And yes this is genuine ammunition.
