Hi all
I just picked this bayonet up today at a gunshow, and the seller assured me it was for a Carcano. However, it does not come close to fitting on my TS carbine. Other than the serial number "G272" stamped into the top of the handle , there are no markings. I've included some pics, can anyone tell me what type of bayo I have here?
Many thanks!

- Actually, M38 is a short rifle.

Bayonet for a TS could be of two types:

- Early version of the TS carbine used a variation of M91 bayonet which fit on rounded bar on the nosecap and a special release mecanism (fairly rare variation).

- Later type used a standard regulation M91 bayonet

After some checking on the 'net, I'm pretty sure I have an early version of the TS that uses the "side" mounted bayonet...just my luck:(
Thanks for the info, JP!
