Mystery rifle ID *SOLVED*

Photos sent by a nephew of mine, Stateside. Rifle belongs to a young fella -friend of his- who was passed down the rifle from grandad.
Friend seems to remember grandad (a WWII vet) saying that it was a was bringback. Nephew texted me the photos, sure looks like a postwar Brno or Anshutz to me... Any ideas?
At this time, no word on markings or calibre...working on it.

That's a pump action conversion of an M1 Carbine in .30 Carbine.

I did some googling... it's an M1 carbine pump conversion made by Universal Firearms, and called the Vulcan 440. It should be in .44 mag calibre, and were made 1963-67.

Thanks guys, you're both right! The buddy texted my nephew and confirmed that it's a Vulcan in 44 Mag. Texted AFTER my initial post, of course...
The M1 "conversion" confused him, initially thought it was an authentic M1. Thanks again for your prompt responses.
