Hi .
I just bought some N540 to try with my trusty Old Tikka T3 Tactical .
I typically use IMR 4064 with pretty amazing results in this rifle being that its still the original barrel .
I Just wanted to try N540 as it seems more available now and less expensive the the 4064 .
Does anyone have a "pet load " they wouldn't mind sharing with this powder and either 168g Hornady BTHP Match or 175g Sierra match kings .
I use Lapua SRP and have CC1400 , 450 mag or BR4 primers to try .
I'm not fussy at all about speed, this is just for accuracy loads .
Thanks in advance for any help offered .
Kaz .

Just in the trial stage with 540 myself. Narrowed charge range down to 43.0 and 43.5, velocities high 2600 to low 2700 from a 24” Kimber Police Tactical with 168gr A-Max and 210M

VihtaVuori shows max load 43.5 Grains of N540 for 168 gr. A-Amax and 42.1 for 175 Sierra.

N150 is also an excellent choice.

Regards,

Peter

I've worked up a nice load with N540 that works in my rifle (26" Sako barrel) for Lapua 175 gr MaxRange Target bullets - 42.00 gr on the dot. Generally get around 2,645 fps and high accuracy. Using Lapua LRP brass and Federal 210M primers.

Lapua loads their .308 Win 155 grain ammo with N540. They obtain very large quantities from VV, their affiliate company, and actual burning rate may differ slightly from commercial product.

Regards,

Peter
