n555 in 308 winchester

question no 1. n555 seem to be the go to powder for 6.5 creedmore

question no 2. why can I find any load date for n555 in 308 winchester case are not so different

question no 3 anyone using this powder in 308 winchester and if so a starting load for it

N555 is not suitable for use in .308 Winchester as the burning rate is too slow. Even the quicker N550 requires compressed charges for suitable loading for some bullets. The next slowest burning rate is N150, which most feel is the slowest practical VihtaVuori powder for 308 Win.

OK. but why is it use for the 6.5 creedmore, this case is much smaller than the 308. and they get good speed and accuracy ...... seems it was develop for this cartrige
 
The Creedmoor and other 6.5mm cartridges produce higher pressure necessitating powder with slower burning rates than larger calibres.

Think of it as having to push water through a narrow pipe as opposed to a wider one. Slower powders produce less energy per unit than faster ones and N555 does not produce enough energy for the .308 case capacity. It would require more powder than the .308 would hold in order to achieve the pressure required.

Jennifer was very helpful as well has the gentleman that I spoke to
