I got to admit; though I dont own one 1911, Im totally in love with those guns.
I just recently shared that with someone Stateside, and was suggested that once I start getting into it I sould make a North American Arms 1911 my holly grail, so just out of curiosity, how much do they go for?

according to my buddy there were 500 or so copies made:(

Your buddy must be thinking of the Singer mfg 1911A1 for WWII, there were about 500 of them made. The Singer is the USA's holy grail of 1911's as some examples were actually accepted into military use.

On the NAA, as stated, there were approximately 100 pre-production examples produced but the contract was cancelled before they got into full production. To my knowledge none were accepted into service.

I regard them as the rarest 1911 and for a Canadian collector would be the "holy grail". [Hence my CGN handle "NAA"....;)] And no I don't have one. I've only ever seen them in pictures. Have yet to see one in person.

And, no Yank is going to say a Canadian mfg pistol is their holy grail, no matter how rare though.

NAA.

NAA, you wrong on the last one, guy is a reall 1911 nut, beside I do find many americans a big funs of canadian manufactured guns, be it BHP, SMLE or FN

we were definitly talking about the WWI era production, I guess his nr are off

Are you looking for a gun to actually shoot rather than decorate an alarmed display case? The NAA, at only 100 copies, would be worth more than most of our houses. You'd be crazy to shoot it.

Glad to hear that.... But in my experience, Americans are very finicky when it comes to USGI 1911 & 1911A1's....
