I have recently acquired a well worn 1931 Tula example-so worn that the normal extractor has been replaced by a cut down Mosin Nagant 91/30 cleaning rod! From what I have heard these particular revolvers were most effective at "necking" kneeling POWs, and other "undsireables"....

If this gun could talk, I'm not sure I'd want to listen to it.....

Also good for motivating your own reluctant guys to advance into enemy fire :D, which is the main reason officers carried pistols.

Grizz

There was a lot (estimated 22,000) of Polish Officers shot by these pistols(and others) in the 1940 Katyn massacre. They say the only thing this pistol was good for was executions.

Very nice peace of Russian history. (Before they were allies)

Interesting piece. Ammo is a P.I.T.A to find. At least for me lol...

I know, I keep looking at the gunshows for .32 long or .32 H&R Magnums, but so far, no luck. Two years ago, I saw a guy at the Kamloops show who had a a box of Fiocchi .38 Nagant, but he wanted $75 for it!
I believe CanadaAmmo had some in stock, but it was very pricey as well...

Check this. Seem to be a number of ways of rolling your own.

Polish Officers were not shoot with Nagant Revolvers. They were executed with Walther PK

Your right Polish Officers were not SHOOT with the Nagant Revolvers. The were shot with the Nagant Revolvers by the Soviet secret police. Google Katyn massacre. Wikipedia can be your best friend.

Again very nice peace of history you have there collector67 :)

Wikipedia can lie to you too. :D Don't look like Nagant cases to me.

Good site. But I also stated there were other firearms used as well. Was just saying that the Nagant was more useful as a execution device than in the field of battle. And your right those definitely don't look like Nagant cases too me ether.

I have a Guns and Ammo Surplus Arms issue magazine that compares various small arms of the countries involved in WW1 / WW2 and the Nagant revolver was classed as being "probably best suited for executing kneeling prisoners"... Iraquiveteran8888 on YouTube does a really good shooting video of the Nagant, "pie plate accuracy" is what he says about it. Still, it's an interesting piece of history to add to anyone's collection.
