1. Found answer, 9mm barrels for a Tok seem to run at $150, not sure if it's worth it. Can use regular mags for 9mm.

2. Where's a good place for 7.62x54r brass? Is the Bell/Igman stuff any good for reloading or would I be better off trying to source better brass? What about a good plinking load, I've been thinking pulling the bullets and powder from sks rounds would make a nice one but I'm sure someone here's done it with ? results. Just tired of corrosive ammo is all.

Stay away from Bell. But if you can find any ballistic information about their ammo, feel free to let me know.
Why are you tired of corrosive? Just clean after you shoot, that's really it. You do not have to clean thoroughly, just run a cleaning patch thru the bore, then an oily patch, take her home and then give 'er a good cleaning.
 
I want to reload for the Nagant for two reasons. I'm not a fan of corrosive ammo, though it's not bad to clean on a bolt rifle true, but I also want a different load from the 180 grn stuff. Something in a nice plinking load with light recoil. It is my understanding that sks ammo is the same size so I thought it would make a nice one. I recall CanadaAmmo saying that he uses the surplus stuff through his enfield with good results.
 
Different rounds:
SKS 7.62x39 intermediate
Mosin, SVT 7.62x54R rifle rimmed round
You can buy light ball ammo for a Mosin, 147-150 gr.
I think that Bell brass can be reloaded, but at the price of $1 a round for new Bell ammo, I'll pass on it.
Doubt that you can reload after SVT, correct me if I am wrong.
 
I reload the 7.62x54r Igman brass. It works fine, primers are crimped in the factory ammo so u gotta remove the crimp, I just use a RCBS deburring tool.
 
Mosin Nagant's use 7.62 x 54R. So does the SVT. The round uses a .311" bullet. Good brass is around, but it's mostly Lapua or Norma. Neither of which are inexpensive. Epp's lists both manufacturer's loaded ammo. They likely have the brass too.
 
I have been using the Igman brass for reloading, 123 grain .311 SP bullets using starting powder weights (50.0 grains of powder). Should make for a soft shooting rifle. Brass reloads just fine, and at 11 dollars per 20 rounds of factory loaded ammo (factory load is 150 grain SP) its hard to beat. All I have for surplus is 174 grain heavy ball and it is a handful in the M44 carbine.

A few other things to note:

Marstar used to sell the 9mm barrels in the $80-$90 range. I am not sure if they still do or not or if they will fit in an actual Tokarev or just the M54. Didn't have time to check their site.

The regular mags will work for 9mm but they are not as good for the purpose. The 9mm mags feed better and have a finger rest that greatly increases the "pointability" of the Tok. I liked them so much, I milled a bunch for my 7.62x25 mags.

The standard recoil spring for 7.62x25 seems stiffer than a 9mm one, and works best with 124gr 9mm. FTE's were common with 115gr.
