Hello gentlemen, I am considering purchasing a Nagant M1895 Gas Seal revolver. Does anyone here abouts have one? Any advice for me? Difficult to reload for? And most impotantly are there any good reference books (in English) for these?

thank you

I have one, and like it a lot. I have done some tuning to the main spring and it works just perfect (smooth and easy trigger). I have some material in Russian and can try to answer you question in English :) As for the main spring work I've seen English version on Internet (might still have a link)

I have one, but never loaded for it. I got ammunition from Ellwood Epps a little while ago. They bring it in from Old Western Scrounger in the US, I believe. Fiocchi might carry it. Even if you reload, you'll have to get some ammunition to start with, to have some cases on hand. Forming the cases would be a job. I understand that if you're not concerned about the "gas seal" feature of the cartridge, other cartridges can be used. Lee and others sell dies for the cartridge. The gas seal (I've read) doesn't really seal very well, but it certainly is an interesting gun. If you have a "prohibited" license, there are .32 ACP cylinders available in the US.

As I discovered last year, and I thought a fellow gun nut was on crack for even suggesting it, .32 S & W long may be fired in the Nagants quite well. You, of course, do not get the gas seal, but the gun fires quite well and accuracy was OK!
