Nagant scope mount question

A buddy of mine has a nagant he just got a brand new barrel for . it was a bubba`d fin , he reloads and plans to hunt with it .
the question is , other than the PU type , what other options are there to
put a regular 1 inch scope.Piticany type on the ol girl. of course being a bubba it dont matter weather it needs drilling and tapping . as long as its solid

Is the receiver intact? If so, then, why spend time and money drilling and tapping it? There's got to be one lying around already drilled and tapped...

OR you could go the 'Scout scope' route, put a no-drill mount where the back-sight leaf sits, then add on a Long Eye Relief scope. DEFINITELY and easiest way AND the cheapest.

S&K and I believe B-Square both make mounts for this. I usually order S&K through MilArm, but any gun shop should be able to get them. Expensive but cheaper than forging new bolt bodies or finding a sniper body and the drilling and tapping and all the rest. Put your rifle back to original with a screwdriver and 10 minutes.

Worth a look, anyway.....
