Very interesting set of photo's. Particularly interested in the cutting marks left by both mill & lathe on most of that rifle indicating a hurry-up manufacturing process "except" were the Mum is, metal finish is as good as any wartime offering.

Am wondering how the bore finish is for that rifle....as harsh as the outer workings that would be just "shooting usable" with no accuracy expectations or did it get a good quality reaming?

Those two lines on the mum, is it "cancelling"? I only saw grinding and zeros before.
Gotta love late war items, brutal functionality.

Probably a solider bounced their bayonet off the mum before surrender.

Nice rifle, now get some 7.7 jap or what I call .303 rimless.. What's the bore like?

Bore is fine. They stopped chrome lining by this point. I won’t be shooting it haha

So no tapco stock and no red dot? What a waste of money on the gun that will never be improved and shot. I'm sad.
