Hi trying to find the technical name for this part. I'm call it a "screw bedding cup" or "screw stanchion"but my search on Brownells and google doesn't bring up any results so I know it's just my terminology.

I'm look for a source as well for it fancy or simple design just like to find a few for my build I'm considering.

Thanks in advance.

If it has a thread inside, call it a threaded insert and see what Lee Valley has on offer.

Is it a bedding pillar with a countersink in it for the screw head? Might have to find a fella with a metal lathe to make you what you want or need.

Crappy picture, need to add some info as to what the part does in order to get better help, I think.

Cheers

Don't think Spaenaur will sell just one. They might. Takes a phone call to find out. Any fastener supplier will have 'em though. You will need to know the thread.

I don't know if there is another name but I make these all the time for wood stocks and call it a pillar I glue them in with devcon and install them when bedding .

Yep. looks like a bedding pillar. Brownells lists them here, although they don't have the nice head like the one in the pic. (I checked New England Custom Gun as well but they don't show them. They might know of a source, though.)

:)

I believe the term is escutcheon.

Bingo, you win the prize...

All it really is; is a thick washer with a recess for the head of the screw. Anyone with a lathe can make one in a few minutes.

Pillars go through the stock and contact the action.

Escutcheon is correct. I don't do it that way, I stop it short of showing outside the bottom of the stock so only the head of the screw shows not a big pillar.
