National Match Garand and other questions

Hi,

I've looked on the ís forum and can't find the answers to these questions.

How can I identify if a Garand is a National Match or not?

Also I have a Garand that says E Sky Arlington Va. on the barrel. What's the history of these barrels?

Is there a website on Garand markings?

Google for garand markings and you'll find lots.
I have never heard of that barrel marking you have.
Sounds like the owner scribed his name in it.

It should be 'Blue Sky Arlington, VA' which is an importer marking stamped on the barrel. Import marks usually lowered the price somewhat on old USGI, but I am not sure if thats still the case these days.

NM Garands will have NM marked parts (although I have heard there are/were some without the stamp) on oprods, barrels and such.
