Just finished holidays in Wyoming. Started at Yellowstone stone, Cody, then Lander area.

They have this museum that's closer to Dubois, but more places to stay in Lander.

What an amazing museum, they have so much going on inside and out. Pass lasts for two days. We went through the museum itself on July 2, on July 3rd the had special events. Ride on multiple military vehicles that they had available. They also had a tank demonstration with M4A4 and Lepord. Part of the demonstration was them shooting up a car with M134 Minigun. Then driving over cars with tanks.

Highly recommend to visit, I saw the D Day museum in New Orleans about 20 years ago and this was much better. They just opened up Korea war and Vietnam exhibits.

Was an experience to be able to ride in these vehicles. Back of the half track wasn't a bad ride, APC was not something I would want to be in all day.

They were running German tanks. Panzer and and I'm not sure on the tank destroyer version the had. Unfortunately it was hot out, the tank destroyer overheated. We got the last ride on Panzer named Heidi before it overheated as well. They had a backup Panzer that suffered the same fate. What an amazing experience.

Seeing the mini gun shoot was incredible, what a sound. Watching the tanks go around crush cars was great. The Sheman was Israeli conversion to diesel.

They have really good you tube video channel. They also do a big 4th of July parade with vehicles as well. I'm guessing they will do special events like this again. If you get the opportunity to go do it.

The Canadian Tank Museum in Oshawa has theme shows - Italy, DDay, Korea, Gulf, Vietnam/Cold War, etc. Each gets its own array of running armoured vehicles. They have an active restoration program too. Working on a US M1917 Light Tank and a WW1 cargo truck, besides keeping the others in the fleet going.

Sometime in August the Canadian War Museum has its Awesome Tanks display where they run an assortment of the display vehicles up and down the back road. I participated one year driving a 1969 Cadillac Gage (sic) armored car that is privately owned. One of two in Canada.
