Hi folks. My grandfather on my mother's side left my cousin (because his last name was the same) his 30 carbine. I have been holding on to it for over 15 years because my cousin wasn't old enough to possess it at the time of my grandfather's passing. My cousin is now old enough and shows no interest in getting is Rpal so I thought I would try and sell it while I still can and at least get some money for him. My grandfather has an 1.25" of pipe soldered to the barrel to make it legal length, back when that was acceptable and carried this gun trapping. He told me lots of stories of shooting everything from fox to moose with the gun. It is a National Postal Meter and appears to be number matching. I am not sure if the rear sight is original or not. The stock has a piece missing at the rear of the receiver and there appears to be a crack there as well. There is no sling with the rifle either. The gun cycles well and the action seems to be tight compared to others I have handled. What would this rifle be worth?
