Navy Arms Buffalo Hunter

Just refurbished this old girl a 58 cal Navy Arms Buffalo hunter.I m going to be taking her out for a walk about tomorrow

When you say you refurbished it, what did that entail? Got any before pictures?

I refinished the stock,the stock also had age cracks under the buttplate which I repaired.I recut the slots and cold blued some of the screw heads that were burred.(one of my pet peeves I hate burred screw heads.I didn t polish the brass as I m taking her hunting and don t want shiny brass.The barrel itself was in good shape so just a little touch up blue

The Buffalo Hunter is a sporting version of the replica Remington 1863 "Zouave".
Interesting that Navy Arm did exactly what was done to many surplus arms after the US Civil War.

It s too bad Pedersoli doesn’t do the same thing and revive the Buffalo hunter.

I had a Buffalo Hunter about 20 years ago and foolishly sold it . I'd definitely be interested in a Pedersoli remake .
