I was offered a Navy Arms Revolver in .45 cal ( good to excellent condition)today. A lady I know wants to get rid if it. I can't find any on the exchange forums or a reference in this forum. I did a search and can't even find a dealer in Canada.

Hence the thread. Any help as to info, value and or dealer in Canada would be appreciated.

To this looks like a Model 1875 ? But I am guessing

Navy Arms was an importer of Italian revolvers like the Armi San Marco, Armi San Paolo and Uberti sold through Dixie Gun Works and others, there is also a U.S. Company... Navy Arms that makes 1873 SAA revolvers. Check the gun for Italian proof marks or made in the USA.

I know nothing of the quality of these. The one in the pic has a nick on the grip, but it hasn't seen 200 rounds. It was bought in the states during the early 80's and brought over.
I can't see this thing being worth $500, although new they appear to go for $600 or more.

The lack of response on my thread I think goes to show they aren't the most popular revolvers.

These are pretty decent guns and fairly good representations of the original Remington 1875s. $500 is reasonable, the real deal goes for 5-10x more. Both the copy and original are excellent shooters. As far as the lack of response to your request I will say the popularity of these guns is probably geared more towards cowboy action shooter and I am going to guess that is not most folks cup of tea.

This is one of my orginal Remington irons circa 1877

Mostly when you run across Navy Arms guns they are black powder cap & ball guns. This is the first Navy Arms 1875 I've seen in the three years of intrest I've had in older revolver replicas.

Assuming the cylinder locks up nice and tight when it's ready to drop the hammer you'd be a cad of the worst sort to give her any less than $300. A more fair price would be around $350. And that's only due to the age of it and the fact that Navy Arms is no more.

I imagine if sold on the EE that someone might well buy it for $400. Maybe not the first week but at some point. At $350 it wouldn't last long I'd wager.

Thanks for the help. I think apu is right about the popularity. These are geared towards cowboy shooters.

I am not sure I will buy it just to turn it over. I just didn't want to buy it, shoot it for a bit and not get what I paid out of it. Cowboy guns aren't really my thing either.

It is weird but I have never owned a lever action rifle. I have only ever even thought about having a Savage 99 but have never gone after one.

My last revolver was a S&W 686 and that was sure fun !
