I have acquired an old FN Hi Power that I would like to get some info as to value etc. It has several Nazi eagles in a couple spots and is stamped WaA140. It is admittedly in rough shape some surface rust, but it shoots very well. Are there any Belgian Hi Power experts I can talk to about this piece? Preferably local to South Western Ontario. I have no computer and don't know how to post pics but I can email. Thanks

Here is the CGN provided way. Except photobucket sucks so I recommend imgur.

I can't tell you anything about what you have but please post pictures some where

Interesting side note: when the German Army over ran the BHP manufacturing site, they ultimately re-stared production. Some plans or even some samples were smuggled out, sent to the new world where production began at the Inglis plant.
The interesting part is that German BHP production exceeded the production numbers at Inglis....

I read that the Hi Power was the only pistol officially issued to both sides in WWII

Well the Inglis HP's were made in Toronto using American Standard measurements due to the fact the machinery in NA was not available in metric, from plans smuggled out of Belgium earlier, before the Germans overran the factory. The pistols were made from 1944 t0 1945 using American Standard measurements as there were no metric equipment available in NA at that time. I don'r know what parts, if any, are interchangeable with the FN produced HiPowers made using metric measurements. I am sure someone on the Board can elaborate further.

Take Care

The 1911 pistol was used by both sides, thanks to the Norwegian M1914 version of the pistol falling into German hands (and production continuing in German hands).

My unicorn.... The WaA marked Kongsberg Colt!!

OP: only three things matters with collector items: condition, condition, condition!!

Nice samples will fetch $1000 or so; yours would be somewhat less based on your description.

My dad had a Nazi marked hp but my step mother made him get rid of it because it belonged to "them" . My dad always tells how much he regrets getting rid of,I was too young to remember much of it but it's all ways stuck in my head I think I'll definitely try and get one at some point even though I'm not collector.
